

Floyd was born on June 23, 1938 in Effingham, Illinois to William L. Bishop and Melvina Matilda Cooper Bishop. He married Patricia Ann Corum on April 14, 1963 in Manitou Springs, Colorado. They moved to Longmont in 1975.
Floyd worked in the restaurant business for 50 plus years. He lied about his age at 15 to take job at a restaurant, being named the manager a short time later. He managed numerous stores for both McDonald’s and Long John Silver’s restaurant chains. He worked the past 15 years as the affable host of Janie’s Restaurant in downtown Longmont. He left the restaurant industry for 15 years, working as a custodian for Longmont High School.
Floyd was always the gracious host, he loved his family and their time together. His grandsons had his total attention following their numerous exploits and the time they shared. He was an active member of the Longmont Moose Lodge #1548. He was the night manager for many years and was the leader of Bronco parties at the lodge. He also enjoyed playing social games of pool at the Moose. Always dapper, he will be fondly remembered for his tie collection. Through the year’s family and friends have added to this enormous menagerie, as he has amassed over 600 assorted ties, just 20 short of a world record. He loved the holidays and decorated his residences, especially during the Christmas season.
Surviving are his wife of Longmont; a son Scott (Kim Rearick) Bishop of Firestone; daughter Stephanie (T.J.) McKeehan of Frederick; brothers Wallace (Jeanette) Bishop of Springfield, Missouri and Bill Bishop of Yuma, Colorado; sisters Patricia (John) Monical and Naomi Rogers both of LeRoy, Illinois; six grandchildren Brock (Renee Lackey) Dooling; Brandon (Alison) Dooling; Adam and Blake Bishop; and Trey and Evan Rearick; and 3 great grandchildren Adrianna, Emma, and Bennett; and niece Tina (Dennis) Simmons.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 9 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, February 11 at the Longmont Moose Lodge.
