

Frances Darlene Granath, 91, of Longmont, CO, passed away surrounded by her four daughters on May 4, 2017 at Longmont United Hospital Mrs. Granath was born on November 9, 1925 in O'Donnell, TX. to Harlan Edgar and Middie Idell (Harris) Austin. She was a graduate of Hobbs High School in Hobbs, NM.On December 28, 1944 she married Robert Bob Douglas Granath in Monahans, TX. Frances and Bob moved to Littleton, CO in 1962 from New Mexico, then to Longmont in 1964.Frances was a wife, mother and homemaker, titles of which she was very proud. After Bob retired in 1983, they enjoyed traveling throughout Canada and the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii. She and Bob spent two winters in Hawaii prior to his death in 1986. She was a member of Longs Peak United Methodist Church in Longmont, the Rebekah Lodge in Berthoud and the Hover Village Ladies card group.Mrs. Granath was an avid reader. Family was most important. She enjoyed card games, sewing, cooking and baking. She was especially known for her biscuits. Frances loved jokes and laughter, traveling with her daughters, and friendships were priceless.Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert and grandson Travis Hays.She is survived by four daughters Cathy Ludlow (Greg), Kristy Meining (Ron), Karla Robinson (Ed) and Connie Hays (Gary), two sisters Neva Britton (Erle) and Anita Davenport (Corky), six grandchildren Casey Mangan, Bill Meining (Kasey), Patrick Robinson (Stephanie), Bob Meining (Angela), Tom Ludlow (Lindsay) and Cody Hays, six great grandchildren Jaylin Meining, Chase Meining, Katie Meining, Josie Meining, Savannah Robinson and Rivers Ludlow, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, May 8, 2017 at Longs Peak United Methodist Church in Longmont. Private interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Berthoud, CO.
