Frances Perez bid farewell to this world at the age of 93 on June 13, 2023. With her family by her side, she closed her life's chapter in the same way she lived it - with strength and resolve. Her departure was preceded by her cherished son, Paul Arguello, her parents, Leonardo and Catalina Perez, her sisters, Lupe, Connie, Lucy, Carmen, and her brother, Salvador.
Born on July 3, 1929, in Longmont, Colorado to Leonardo and Catalina Perez. Frances was a beacon of strength and a model of tenacity. A devoted nurse by profession, she diligently cared for those in assisted living. Frances was a testament to the enduring spirit of humanity and an example of compassion.
Known for her fiery spirit, Frances was the life of the party; she loved playing pool, dancing, cheering for her Jets, and playing bingo, and she never shied away from embracing the vibrant hues of life. Her love for animals was unmatched, a passion she generously extended to all her children's and grandchildren’s pets. She also made the best tortillas and banana bread in the world and her recipes will live on with her family.
A woman of unwavering resolve, Frances embodied strength until her last breath. Her faith in our Lord and Savior was a source of comfort and a testament to her spiritual journey, embarked upon many years ago.
Frances leaves behind her seven children, Lydia Armendariz, Manuel Zuniga (Sandra Zuniga), Sarah Martinez (David Martinez), Elizabeth Grisdela (Paul Grisdela), Carlos Arguello (Peggy Arguello), Ovid Arguello (Stacey Arguello), ReNay Martinez, and her adopted daughter, Shelly Alvidrez. Her sisters, Cathy Lucero and MaryEllen Perez, also survive her.
Frances' legacy continues through her grandchildren Terry Temple, Troy Martinez, Fransean Molina, Rhonda Magnetti, April Zuniga, Brian Granados, Travis Granados, Eric Arguello, Michael Martinez, Amanda Arguello, Jordan Arguello, and Luis Martinez, along with many great, and great-great grandchildren. Her special friend, Santiago, remains a part of this enduring legacy.
Our gratitude extends to Berthoud Care and Rehabilitation for their diligent care and support. Special thanks to Claudio and Alexia, Frances' favored caretakers, for their unwavering commitment of warmth, and love they showed her.
Frances' spirit will forever be echoed in the sight of four o'clock flowers, a vivid reminder of her resolute nature and fiery spirit. We invite you all to commemorate her life on June 15th, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Howe Mortuary. With heartfelt gratitude, the service will be led by Pastor Raymond Gomez!
