Frieda Marie Hamlin, 96, of Boulder, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Longmont, CO. Frieda was born on April 13, 1924 to Freeman Clyncke and Mary Hogan Clyncke at their home in Louisville. She was raised on the family farm located on top of South Boulder Hill in Louisville. She was one of seven children, including four boys and three girls. She enjoyed helping her mom with cooking, cleaning, and caring for her younger siblings.

Frieda graduated from Louisville High School in 1943. After graduating she worked at Bell Telephone Company in Denver. She later worked as a secretary at Kaiser Shipyards in California, which built ships during WWII. On February 7, 1947, Frieda married her childhood friend, Claude Hamlin, in Cheyenne, WY. Frieda and Claude moved back to the Boulder area and had seven children. They later divorced. Claude passed away in 1961. Frieda, being the strong willed and amazing woman that she was, raised the seven children by herself.

Frieda enjoyed her hobbies including gardening, baking, and following the stock market. She received the Martin Acres "Most Beautiful Yard Award" for several years. Her neighbors often stopped to tell her that she had the most beautiful yard on the block. Though she enjoyed all of these things, what she enjoyed the most was spending time with her family. She was the sweetest, kindest person you could meet, adored by her family, and will be deeply missed. Frieda was preceded in death by her parents Freeman Clyncke and Mary Hogan Clyncke; husband Claude Hamlin; siblings Wilburt Clyncke, Rose Carlson, Mary Agnes Matz, Freeman "Junior" Clyncke, and Richard ”Tiny” Clyncke; son-in-law James "Jim" Hendricks; and grandson John "Johnny" Hamlin. Frieda is survived by her brother Andrew Clyncke; her children Joyce Hendricks, Jack Hamlin (Cheryll), Jerry Hamlin (Kathy), Joe Hamlin, Janell Brandt, Joannie Trumble (Pat), Jeannie Edmonds; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Per Frieda's request, graveside services will be held with immediate family at the Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery, Boulder.
