Gail Irene (Wynn) Zeman, 74, passed away suddenly and on July 6, 2018. She was feeling dizzy and collapsed at home and despite efforts by the responders, Gail died at UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital that afternoon.
Gail was born August 23rd, 1943, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She was the second of four children born to Richard Waid Wynn and Margaret Jane (Lounsbury) Wynn. Gail had an older sister, Linda Jane, and two younger brothers Richard Charles and Arthur Waid. In her childhood years, Gail enjoyed ice skating and singing in the choir. In 1957, the Wynn family immigrated to Fargo, North Dakota. Gail attended Fargo Central High School and played softball in the Fargo league. Following high school, she attended Cosmetology school at New York hairdressing Academy and received her diploma in July ,1961.
While working as a cosmetologist in Zeman’s Beauty Shop in Fargo, she met and soon married Earl Joseph Zeman on October 6, 1962. Earl was the son of the shop owner’s Agnes Francis (Maixner) Zeman and Joseph Frank Zeman. Earl’s career then moved the young couple to Sacramento, California where they were blessed with two children. Their son, Mark Dana, who was born April 27, 1963, followed by their daughter, Jane Marie, on July 7, 1965. Soon after, Gail and Earl moved to Colorado where Earl became employed by IBM. The couple bought a home in Boulder Colorado and they remained there for 36 years as a family of four. Originally a successful homemaker, Gail also enjoyed sewing, bowling league and her softball team. She was actively involved in her children’s interests such as boy and girl scouts, dance, and sports. The family attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Boulder for many years and were involved in Sunday school as well as active participants in the Marriage Encounter program. As a supportive mother, Gail continued to encourage her son’s interest in football and her daughters passion for showing horses. She later worked for Valley Labs and as a House cleaner.
When she and her husband became empty nesters, Gail went back into cosmetology and worked as a manicurist at Cutter’s Edge in Gunbarrel---Boulder. Gail was a great care-taker of many people. She loved spending time with her dear friends, ,attending family gatherings, Lounsbury and Wynn reunions, camping, cruises, Vegas, and especially her 3 beloved grandchildren.
Gail leaves behind those who will love, miss and remember her always; her husband Earl and their dog Sasha, son Mark and wife Linda Cateora Zeman, grandson Conrad Zeman, daughter Jane and husband Jeff Holen, grandson Landon Kellogg, granddaughter Abby Kellogg, step grandsons Ethan and Luke Holen, brother Richard and wife Sheryl Wynn, Nephew Waid Wynn and Christina and daughter Leah Wynn, Niece Julene Romsland and Nephew Derek Romsland, plus other Aunts and many cousins.
It gives us great comfort to know that Gail will be reunited by death with those that proceed her; her parents, sister Linda Romsland, brother Arthur Wynn, as well as her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and of course all her beloved puppy dogs!
Funeral services for Gail Irene (Wynn) Zeman will be conducted at Howe Mortuary 439 Coffman St. Longmont, CO. 80501. The viewing will be held on Thursday, July 12 from 3pm to 7pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, July 13 from 2pm-3pm followed by a reception until 5pm. Deacon Mike of Saint John the Baptist Catholic church will officiate.
The committal will be on Monday, July 16 at 10:30am at Fort Logan National Cemetery 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, CO. 80235. Serving as pallbearers will be Conrad Zeman (grandson), Landon Kellogg (grandson), Abby Kellogg (granddaughter), Waid Wynn (nephew), Ethan Holen (grandson) and Luke Holen (grandson).
