

Gayle (Sue) DeSantis, 77, of Longmont, died at Longmont United Hospital on October 25, 2017. Sue was born September 10, 1940 in Boulder, CO to Charles B. Rose and Kelsey (Cavenee) Rose. She was a 1958 graduated of Longmont High School.
Sue had a passion for children. She operated her in-home daycare for more than 30 years, during which she helped to raise countless children of local teachers. Sue was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, and loved singing in the church choir. She was also a devoted member of P.E.O. Chapter FD. Sue loved music, especially classic rock and roll. She also enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, and spending precious time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Emilio (Mel) DeSantis, of Longmont, her son Christopher (Christine) DeSantis of Bloomington, IL, and her daughters, Gina (Alan) Dillingham of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jill Suits (Rich Miller) of Johnstown, CO. Her grandchildren further survive her: Bryce and Brooke Dillingham, and Trevor, Jenna, and Justin Suits, as well as one great-grandchild, Ethan Suits.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1, at Howe Mortuary Chapel in Longmont.
