
George E. Best, 66, of Longmont died April 16, 2011 at Peaks Care Center. He was born August 8, 1944 in La Jolla, California to Lewis E. and Maxine (Watson) Best.George married Vickey Drum on June 29, 1985 in California and they moved to Longmont, Colorado in 1988 from California. He was a meat cutter for forty five years, retiring in 2003. George was a member of the UFCW union.George was the man that made the room light up when he came in; he loved people. George loved spending time with his ten grandchildren and family; they remember him as the grill master, loving the outdoors, riding his bike, the beach, and bowling in several bowling leagues.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jake Best.George is survived by his wife, Vickey Drum Best of Longmont; four daughters, Gina Marie Shea and husband David of El Cajon, Calif., Teresa Sbarra and husband Robert of Grand Junction, CO, Melanie Lynn Yousif and husband Waleed of El Cajon, Calif., and Linda Pearce (Chad) of Platteville; a son, Roger Pearce (Michelle) of Longmont; two brothers, Terry Best (Pamela) and Donald Best, both of San Diego; two sisters, Beverly Brown (James) and Paulette Hepp (Phillip), both of El Cajon and ten grandchildren.A celebration of George's life will take place at 2PM on Tuesday, April 19 at Celebration Christian Church, 408 Sherman St., Longmont. George's family requests casual attire. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and mailed to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
