

George Allen Quick died January 20, 2010. George was born on January 30, 1922 in Fairfield, Michigan to Harry Quick and Lucille Allen Quick. He grew up in Michigan and later served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII on a submarine in the Pacific. In the 1950's, George moved his wife, Glenna Quick, and their son, David Quick to Colorado. George was an electrician by trade and worked at various locations including Coors and Rocky Flats in Golden. He eventually settled his family on a small farm outside of Longmont, and there they became very involved in the local chapter of Appaloosa horse breeders. In 2007, a few years after the passing of his wife, George lived for a couple of years at Sugarland Ridge retirement home in Sheridan, Wyoming, and then in 2009 lived with his grandson's family in Livermore, Colorado until his passing. George is survived by one sister, Vivian Koetz of Indiana; one brother, Don Quick; one daughter, Susan Lawrence of Oregon; and three grandchildren: Cody Quick of Livermore, Colo., Kimberly Quick of Erie, Colo., and Troy Quick of Evans, Colo. A private gathering for family members was held on Saturday January 30, 2010 at the Foothills Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Howe Mortuary.
