March 27, 1933-January 26, 2020
George passed away at the age of 86 after a short battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Sheridan, Oregon. While living there George attended primary and secondary schools.
After high school he joined the services serving in the Navy and Air Force. George and his wife Lynn were married in 1963 in La Paz, Bolivia. They later moved to Colorado and ran the Hummingbird café in Allenspark before moving to Longmont. George joined the Pratt organization in the late 1970’s as manager of the Green Acres Sod Farm. He went on to manage the landscape construction and maintenance department for Pratt Management’s portfolio of buildings. In his later years with Pratt he became the caretaker of the home of Susan and Ken Pratt until his retirement. Throughout his decades with Pratt he was a valued and respected member of the Pratt family.
George was a devoted father and grandfather and was liked by everyone. He endured the game of golf every chance he could get. He loved his dogs he had acquired over the years. He would get up every morning and “make a list of things he was not going to get done.” Even though he managed landscape maintenance for Pratt he removed the grass from his own yard and put in rock.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lynn whom he had been married to for 38 years. He is survived by his daughter Alycen, granddaughter Freya, his dog Shotze, special friends Greg, Chip, Peggy and Dan and the Pratt family.
Donations may be made to Wounded Warrior in George’s name.
A small gathering will be held later.
