

George Harland Wallace 90, passed away on July 13, 2020 after a short illness in Boulder, Colorado. He was born in Wichita, Kansas. George attended Wichita High School East, in Wichita, Kansas, in 1949. George married Madeline Stierwalt, an elementary school teacher from Arizona, in 1955. They resided many years in Boulder and later moved to Niwot. After Madeline's death in 2009, George moved to Frasier Meadows Retirement Community in 2015. He moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1958. George graduated with a B/A degree from Colorado State University in Ft Collins. George worked for Boeing Aircraft Corporation, in Wichita, Kansas, from 1950 to 1958, working as a technician at the Wichita aircraft plant on B-47 and B-52 aircrafts. He also worked for the National Bureau of Standards as a senior technician, where he designed and built complex equipment used by scientists at the cryogenics laboratory in Boulder, Colorado from 1958 to 1995 until his retirement. George was always "tinkering", with mechanical things. At an early age he learned how to construct just about anything he put his mind too. He read Popular Science and Popular Mechanics magazines over many years and still has every copy of these historical magazines. George built a photo "dark", shop and learned how to take quality photos, develop them and produce them for professional use. He built a ski boat, plank by plank, then designed, built his own personalized water skies. George was member of the Boulder First United Methodist Church. George was an avid camper and favored Rocky Mountain National Park, and other parks in Colorado, Arizona, and Montana. George and wife enjoyed time together at their Estes Park condominium. Photography, usually associated with nature, family reunions and special church activities. Above all, George was a close family man, not only to immediate family with Madeline, Duane, and Diana, but also with a large number of aunts, uncles and grandchildren. Survivors include his son Duane, daughter Diana Oram, daughter-in- law Cheryl Wallace, four grandchildren and brothers Kenneth and larry. One great Grand Child Emiliano and one adopted son Soka Chan from Cambodia. George raised him like he was his own son. He put him through school and attended many Cambodian Family event traditions. George & Madeline changed a families life just being so kind hearted. He was one of the most gentle, talented and kind-hearted persons you could find. George always had a smile and would go out his way to help mankind.
