
Gilbert R. GARCIA, son of Adolpho and Margarita (Chavez), passed at home on Dec. 28, 2017 in Dacono. Born on May 12, 1930 in Trinidad, he is predeceased by his cherished wife, Mary (Winfield), sister Bella Sanchez (Tony), Helen Garamella (Mike), brothers Louis (Verse), Ray (Edna), Benjamin T. Ben (Beatrice), and Claude Levi (Faye); survived by daughter Marcia L. Garrett (Centennial), Grandchildren Richard Garrett (Sunol, CA), Tracey Garrett (CA), Pamela Short (Parker) and Lynn Kemman (Rock Springs, WY), 8 Great-grandchildren and 7 Great-great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Bernice R. (Winfield) Bellor (Michigan). Gilbert entered U.S. Army service Dec. 1948 achieving Grade-Rate-Rank Corporal T 28 Jun. 1951; assigned to D-Battery 507 AntiAircraft Artillery Anti Warfare Battalion specializing in Automatic Weapons; he served in Korea and Japan, and was decorated with Army Occ Medal with Japan Clasp. He was also a life member of Dacono VFW 9741; a Member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America since July 1954 and specialized in Acoustics; an active member in his community and devout parishioner at St. Theresa Catholic Church.Rosary recitation Fri., Jan. 5, 2018, 10:30 am and Mass 11:00 am by Rev.
