Gladys was born in October year of 1925, in Mutual, CO. Living in various small towns around Walsenburg where she grew up alongside with numerous brothers and sisters.
In 1942, Gladys married Floyd Raymond Johnson and they were happily married for 56 years. During that time, they were blessed with 4 children. Bill, Marcia, Deena, and Robert (Robby). Gladys wore many hats throughout her life. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Gladys enjoyed cooking, crafting, horses, snowmobiling, camping, crocheting, traveling, truck driving, and most of all enjoyed family gatherings; full of laughter and memories. Gladys was always looking for a new path to travel and new adventure.
Within her life of adventures Gladys left her career choice open. She did waitressing, facilities maintenance, and Eagle County Assessor Office. Until, 1977 came around and she found her passion for trucking. Gladys became an owner alongside her husband Floyd. The trucking company was known as “Johnson and Son.” Gladys drove truck with her husband and son, in their fleet. After trucking, Gladys decided to try a new hat on and found a new passion for cashiering and working with the public. Gladys was a well-known people person and known for her smile that lit up the room when she entered. She was always up for a new challenge and never backed down from anything. After 10 ½ years at the age of 80 Gladys decided to retire and devote her time to her family and friends.
Gladys is proceeded in death by her husband, Floyd Johnson and son, Billy Ray Johnson. Also, alongside Gladys is her mother Mary and her father William Munden. Her three brothers: Fred, Forrest, Cecil. Four sisters: Vivian, Lita, Lillian, and Betty.
Gladys is survived by, her children: Marcia – Rod Bauder (Longmont, CO.), Deena – Jeff Dye (Missouri City, TX.), Robby - Tammy Johnson (Fort Collins, CO.).
Gladys is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 21 Great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, her grand-puppy Spanky, and numerous extended family-friends that looked up to her as a second mom or grandma.
