

Glenn Allen Johnson, D.C. of Longmont, died December 23rd, 2008 at Longmont United Hospital. He was 54.Glenn (affectionately known as ""Wads"") was born on May 31, 1954 in Longmont to Walter August Johnson and Margaret Carrari. Raised in Longmont, he graduated from Longmont High School in 1972, where he was active in football and baseball. Glenn attended and played football for Western State College, Gunnison, CO before attending and graduating from Logan School of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO.Glenn started his chiropractic business with his father in Longmont, in 1977. He married Kim Bryson on December 31, 1978 in Longmont. The 31st of this month would have been their 30th year anniversary; a commitment for which their children are extremely proud and thankful.Glenn passionately pursued his career. He had a deep knowledge and understanding of the human body, health, and natural medicine. All of that, combined with his love for those he treated, enabled him to make countless lifelong imprints on their hearts. He had a unique way of treating his patients and connecting to them by always showing love. He enjoyed helping people through his chiropractic skills, personally taking an active interest in their health care and relieving their pain. His chiropractic legacy will live on through those who received his healing touch.Glenn helped manage and maintain his family's commercial building, the Johnson Building here in Longmont. He was also a member of the Colorado Chiropractic Association.Glenn was an active father as he constantly supported his children in their many sports and activities and truly believed they could achieve anything. He was a devoted husband and led his family through his quiet and humble strength. Glenn was a man of great patience, an ever listening ear, and constantly selfless. He taught his family to persevere and to always try their best. Glenn was well known for his witty sense of humor and his deep, loving, compassionate heart. Friends and family express endearment for this man of gentleness, love, and humor.Glenn was a proud parent and recently had been blessed with two beautiful grandchildren. Glenn enjoyed golfing, fishing, and following the Denver Broncos with his family and buddies. He used his ""green thumb"" to perfect his gardening skills and enjoyed time tending to his garden.Preceding him in death are his parents and his brother Walter.Surviving are his wife Kim of Longmont; two sons Eli Johnson and his wife Elizabeth of Severn, Maryland, and Clayton Johnson and his wife Rhianna of Longmont; a daughter Sophia McKean and her husband Caleb of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a sister Janice Dawson of Broomfield and two grandchildren Bryson and Ainsley Johnson.A cremation has been entrusted to the Howe Mortuary and Crematory.Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 31st, with a reception immediately following, at Faith Community Lutheran Church located at: 9775 Ute Hwy 66 Longmont, CO 80504.Contributions may be made to the Glenn Johnson Children Memorial Fund, c/o Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St., Longmont, CO 80501
