

Glenn D. Pflum was born on March 24, 1950 in Benkelman, Nebraska to Walter and Katie (Jorgensen) Pflum. Glenn and his family moved to Longmont, Colorado in June 1953, where he attended Longmont Public Schools, graduating in 1968. He graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Psychology in 1974 and from University of Nebraska in 1982 with a Doctorate in Psychology. He was also a graduate of Rocky Mountain School of Massage Therapy and received a Master of Library Science degree from University of Maryland in 1991. After spending several years in Boston and San Francisco, he returned to Colorado where he was employed in the Denver Library System, St. Lukes-Presbyterian Hospital, the Denver Art Institute, and the University of Denver library department.Glenn's creed was that once he was your friend, he was a friend for life, as shown by the fact that he was in close contact with those that lived on Judson street near him over 60 years ago.Glenn loved to swim and was an active member of the SQUID team, Denver's LGBT swim team. He served as captain for 2 years and secretary for this 80 member group. He swam in several International Gay Olympic Games around the globe.With a positive attitude, Glenn felt lucky to have survived four cancers and live as long as he did. He always wanted to go on a cruise and he went with a family group of around 30 a month before his passing. He was able to swim with the dolphins! He loved gardening and kept a beautiful yard. His final goal was to live one more spring to see his flowers bloom, but that was not to be¦. Glenn died April 10, 2016 at Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver.He was preceded in death by his parents and Tony, the love of his life.He is survived by four siblings: sister JoAnn Gallatin (Lee) and their daughters Laurie Hendrickson (Mike) and their son Blake (Auriel) and Andrea Gilbert (J ) and their daughters Ariel and Isabella; sister Judy Pflum and her spouse Carol Weiser; brother Eugene Pflum (Mary) and their five children “ Derek (Mary Kay) and their three daughters Katie, Mary and Vittoria; Libby Pflum-Prince; Molli Noga (Jay) and their three daughters Alina, Ania and Maya; Rhoda Pflum; and Joshua Pflum; sister Kathy Pflum-Carlson her daughter Emily Marquez-Cosmes (Ricardo) and her son Peter Carlson. Glenn loved to spend time with his family and with his great nieces, enjoying holidays and birthdays with them.A Celebration of Life memorial service is planned at the Park Hill United Methodist Church, 5209 Montview Blvd., Denver, CO on May 29, 2016 from 1:00-3:00 P.M.
