

Gordon was born in Logan, Utah on March 28, 1936 to Gwynne and Norma (Cowley) Wilson. He married his sweetheart Deanna Fonnesbeck on August 3, 1962 in Logan Utah. They later solemnized their marriage in the Logan Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He grew up in Logan and graduated from Logan High School in 1954 and attended college at Utah State University.
He served his country in the United States Army for two years and was stationed overseas in Germany as a communications/signals specialist. After his military service, he resumed his college studies and completed a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Gordon had a long professional career in accounting and operated his own tax preparation service.
As a youth, Gordon was active in his local Boy Scout troop where he developed an appreciation of being outdoors in the mountains. He had a life-long enjoyment of camping, fishing, and hunting, especially with his family, and patiently shared with his sons and his grandchildren the things he knew and believed. He also enjoyed gardening and working in his yard each season and developed a green thumb as he grew a variety of flowers and plants.
Gordon was an active member of the LDS Church as a High Priest and served in various callings and ward organizations over the years. He had a fine singing voice and particularly loved singing with the choir at church.
Gordon is survived by his wife Deanna (Fonnesbeck) Wilson, Longmont, Colorado, and four sons and their spouses, Bryce Wilson, Denver, Colo.; Lee and Shelly Wilson, Denver, Colo.; Chris Wilson, Longmont, Colo.; and Eric and Merrybeth Wilson, Longmont, Colo. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Keith, Ellery, and Lisa Wilson (Lee and Shelly); Eric John and Cassandra Jane (Eric and Merrybeth). He has three surviving brothers and one sister, Deloy and Carol Wilson, Salt Lake City, Utah; Brent and Lorilee Wilson, San Jose, Cal.; Alan Wilson, Logan, Utah; and Janeth Stevens, Kaysville, Utah. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents.
A viewing will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St, Longmont. Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 28, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Longmont Stake Center, 1721 Red Cloud Road, Longmont, with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am and the service beginning at 11 am.
A viewing in Logan, Utah will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North followed by an 11:00 am graveside service at Logan City Cemetery.
