Harold Bruce Nelson

Harold B. Nelson, Colonel, USAF (Ret.), was born in Longmont. His parents were born nearby and his grandparents were farming near Longmont in the 1890's. Harold grew up on a farm southeast of Longmont now known as Anderson Farm. Harold graduated from Erie High School in 1949, Colorado A&M College (BS 1953) and Indiana University (MBA 1969). He served in the USAF for more than 22 years earning a Bronze Star, Meritorious Service, Joint Service Commendation, Korean Service, Vietnam Service Medal and other lesser service awards. He married Diane Moon in June 1955. She is also a Centennial Native Coloradoan. After his retirement from the Air Force, he and Diane traveled and hiked in the mountains. He hunted upland birds and waterfowl. He then participated in shotgun target shooting competitions with the Amateur Trapshooting Association, National Skeet Shooting Association and the National Sporting Clays Association. Harold is survived by his wife, Diane. They have been married for 63 years. Cremation will take place. Harold will be interred at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.

Dear Diane, I was so sorry to learn of Harold's passing. My memories of him are from many years ago, even including your wedding. We were not only related but Glenda and I were good friends at church and in high school and have enjoyed class reunions so much! I was also sorry to learn of her death.
