
Harold A. Sisk of, Longmont, Colorado, died February 24, 2007 at Life Care Center of Longmont. He was 81 years old.Harold was born May 29, 1925 in Mt. Pulaski, Illinois, to Harry and Grace (Griffin) Sisk.In 1943, Harold enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for over 25 years. He was especially proud of his service aboard the USS Firedrake (AE-14) and the USS Helena (CA-75) as a Senior Electronics Mate. In the 1960s, Mr. Sisk was an electronics instructor at the Nuclear Power Training Unit in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He later joined the staff of the Rocky Flats Weapons Plant as an electrical technician, and worked until his retirement in the mid-1980s.In 1973, he married Pauline Faith Williams in Reno, Nevada. The couple made their home in Longmont.He enjoyed camping, fishing and hiking. Harold had climbed Longs Peak twice, and while stationed in Japan as a young man, also climbed Mount Fuji.He is survived by a brother, George Sisk; two sisters, Elizabeth Purcell and Marianne Keough; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife on June 6, 1987; by his parents; and by three brothers, Bill, Elwyn and Don Sisk.Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary, Longmont. A memorial open house celebration will be held from 4-6 p.m. at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St., Longmont, on Wednesday, March 7, 2007. Interment will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver.Donations in Mr. Sisk?s memory are encouraged to the charity of the donor?s choice.
