Heath was born on February 24, 1971 in Boulder, Colorado to his parents Ricki (Dodge) Chesney-Giddens and Tom Chesney. He has one brother, Tanner Chesney. He attended schools in the St. Vrain Valley School District and graduated high school in 1989 from Longmont High. He attended the University of Northern Colorado as a music major. He married his wife, Misty Dawn Hall, on July 23, 2006, and together they raised their two sons Kelley and Griffin.
Heath shared his passion for music by teaching guitar and playing in local bands, including most recently “When It Was” and “Waitin’ on Ray.” Heath’s love of music and ability to transfer his passion allowed him to be a loving, fun, and inspirational music teacher. His appreciation of the beauty of the Colorado outdoors, his love of people, and his job as a Park Service Specialist for JeffCo Open Space were a perfect match. Heath was a voracious reader who loved to learn and share his knowledge. He was a tremendously funny storyteller who could bring the whole room to tears. Heath loved people, he loved music, and he loved his family and friends.
Heath was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Russell and Ruby Dodge, his paternal grandfather Everett Chesney, an aunt, Lou Ann (Chesney) Brown, and two uncles, Jimmy Chesney and Etson Schwindt. He is survived by his wife Misty and two sons, Kelley and Griffin; his mother Ricki Chesney-Giddens and stepfather George Giddens of Longmont, Colorado; his father Tom Chesney and stepmother Susan Chesney from Loveland, Colorado; his brother Tanner Chesney and his wife Stephanie from Boston, Massachusetts; his paternal grandmother Anna Belle Chesney of Loveland, Colorado; his in-laws Artie and Kathy Hall of Ardmore, Oklahoma; two brothers-in-law, Rob Hall of Lakewood, Colorado and David Hall of Ardmore, Oklahoma; two nephews, Robbie and Joshua Hall of Lakewood, Colorado; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
