Henrietta “Henri” Lulu (Jensen) Coleman, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home on March 14, 2023, with her daughters (Lydia and Mary), Elliott Forgette, and under the compassionate care of TRU Hospice. Henri was born at home on her parent’s farm in Middletown, New York on February 2, 1939. The only child of George and Mildred Jensen, she was raised by her grandparents, Charles & Lulu Ingles until the age of seven. It was then that she returned home where she worked on their family farm (New Kingston Dairy Farm) all her young life where she grew fond of horses and became an expert equestrian. Her passion for horses, and all animals, was evident in her daily life. She also had a love for flowers and could recognize and name even the most exotic species, her favorite being Violets. She graduated from Margaretville Central High School, where she was on staff for the school newspaper. She then attended Delhi Tech where she studied business. She moved to New York City and worked at the Home Insurance Company. She met Ed Coleman in Brooklyn, NY and they were married on July 6, 1963. They lived on the Floyd Bennett Field Naval Base where Ed was stationed. Henri worked at the Officer’s Club caring for their wives and children in numerous capacities. Henri & Ed moved to Longmont Colorado in 1968 where they raised their family. Henri was a homemaker and sold Avon for 13 years making lifelong friends. She worked for Storage Technology Corporation in Broomfield for 17 years with sales in Assets Redeployment. She happily served her community working at the North Main Amoco gas station for many years where she met and made so many friends. Henri was always available to offer a ride or assistance to friends in need. She was a 30-year breast cancer survivor which spoke to her strength, perseverance, and toughness. You could always find Henri and Ed enjoying breakfast at McDonalds or a meal at Aunt Alice’s with dear friends. She loved a good game of Bingo and usually had a box of donuts in hand to share or repay a kind deed shown to her. She had a deep love for her family and fully adored each one of them. Henri is survived by her loving daughters, Lydia (Chuck) Greenhalge of Littleton and Mary Onorato (Elliott Forgette) of Longmont, six amazing grandchildren, seven beloved great-grandchildren and her canine companion, Winston. Henri was preceded in death by her husband Ed, and her parents. Funeral service will take place on March 28 at 10:30am at Howe Mortuary Chapel, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, CO 80501.
