James Ellis Johnston Jr, of Longmont, Colorado passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020. He was born on April 25, 1964 to Rev. James Ellis Sr. and Georgetta Johnston. He received his GED in 1982, and graduated Valedictorian from Emily Griffith School of Welding in 2013. James was married in June of 1982 to Kelly Jochem. They had three beautiful children, Chantele, Joshua, and Daniele. Later, on June 4, 1995, James married Gina Maldanado. He had two wonderful step children, Julie and Alias Maldanado. Nine grandchildren were added to his quiver.

He was proceeded in death by his father, James Sr., his son, Joshua Sr., and his grandson Joshua Jr. James is survived by his wife, Gina, his daughters, Chantele, of Longmont, CO., Daniele and her husband, Steven Woodford of Grain Valley, MO, a daughter in law, Kelsey of Windsor, CO., his step children Julie Maldanado of Erie, CO., Alias Maldanado, of Longmont, CO., his mother, Georgetta Johnston of Longmont, CO., his sister Lisa and her husband James Bolieu, of Council Grove, KS., loved nieces, nephews, grandsons and granddaughters.

James loved people, horses, tinkering on projects around the house and his car. Some consider him to have been a genius at almost everything he did. His death leaves a great empty space and will be sorely missed.

Although it’s been several years since I’ve seen Jimmy, I have great memories of him. I remember lots of family gatherings, picnics and things like that. I also remember trying to help him with his paper route as kids. I doubt I helped him much since I couldn’t through the paper right. LOL. He’s gone too soon and my heart hurts for all the family left behind. My prayers are with you!

Uncle Jim, was one of a kind. He was always very caring, always working on or fixing something. He will be missed very much. Love you Uncle. Rest easy until we meet again. 💔💔💔🌹🌹
