James (Jim) Quadracci, 57, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2021, at his home in Longmont, Colorado with his wife Donna at his side. Jim died from complications of Crohn’s disease. Throughout his decades-long struggles with Crohn’s, he exhibited profound grace and acceptance in coping with the disease. He believed in compassion and helping anyone who needed it. Through his work as a massage therapist he brought healing to many people in his large circle of friends. While he had a gentle soul, he also had an affinity for good jokes, allowing him to be in the moment with the people he loved.
Jim was born Nov. 6, 1963 in Racine, Wisconsin, where he lived until moving to Boulder, Colorado at the age of 16. After graduating from Fairview High School, Jim trained to be a camera repair tech, after which he worked at Pentax Corporation in Englewood, CO., where he met his future wife Donna. In 1991 he moved back to Boulder to attend massage school, graduating in May 1992 after which he and Donna were married the following October. Jim then worked as a massage therapist in Aurora Colorado while again working for Pentax. They moved to Longmont, CO in 2001.
Jim is survived by his mothers: Evie Augustadt and Kathy Howenstine, sister Jodi Marino (George), and brothers Jon (Carol), Jay (Kristin), and Jeff (Bill), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Jeri Caravella, brother Joel and his father, Carl. A long time lover of Dachshunds, donations in Jim’s honor may be made to the Longmont Humane Society.
