

James “Luke” Zimmerman, 76, of Longmont, CO passed away on August 7, 2012. James was born in Tennessee to John and Viola Zimmerman. After his father passed away, Viola remarried Earl Riley. They moved to Nebraska. Jim eventually moved to Colorado. He started a masonry business and was a master mason for 50+ years. He created and worked on projects in cities along the Front Range, greater Colorado and in other states. Jim loved to travel, the mountains, fishing, flower gardening, reading the Bible and spending time with family. He was a member of Assemblies of God church.
Jim was married in 1972 to Dorothy Loukonen until her passing in 2002. He remarried in 2009 to Carol B. Nichols. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, son Jim Zimmerman, Jr., his brother Jerry Zimmerman and wife Dorothy. He is survived by his daughter Sheila Sellers, sister Dollie Labok, brothers Steve Nelson, Frank Riley and Edward Riley, stepdaughters Cindy, Rosanne and Kathy Loukonen, wife Carol, several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and numerous extended family.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 13, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Howe Mortuary, Longmont. Interment will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to either Samaritan’s Purse or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
