

Jane Larson, of Longmont, Colorado, passed away in her sleep on March 30, 2009 at Applewood Living Center in Longmont. She was 87 years old.Jane was born August 5, 1921 in Warren, Ohio to Howard Tiefel Eaton and Lillian Verne Clark Eaton. She grew up in Niles, Ohio and graduated from Western College in Oxford, Ohio in 1943 (later merged into Miami University, Ohio).She married Ralph William Larson Jr. on April 17, 1948 in Niles, Ohio. The couple made their home in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Jane and Ralph moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1979, then to Longmont in 1990 to be closer to three of their four sons and families.After moving to Longmont, she and Ralph joined the Longmont Newcomers Club and made many good friends that she thoroughly enjoyed. A gregarious and outgoing person, she was loving and thoughtful, making friends very easily. She taught elementary school in Illinois and recently volunteered at Longmont United Hospital.She enjoyed traveling with Ralph and her boys, and took up water color painting late in life. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family and watching her grandchildren grow up.She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph, on February 4, 2004.Jane is survived by four sons and ten grandchildren: Jeffrey D. Larson, his wife Cheryl, and children Rachel, Hannah, Scott, and Samantha of Longmont; Gary W. Larson, his wife Ann, and children Amy and Erik of Lafayette; Richard A. Larson, his wife Kathleen and children Brittany and Thomas of Louisville; and Robert T. Larson, his wife Katie and children Ben and Will of Lake Oswego, Oregon. She is further survived by a sister, Margery Paterson of Green Cove Springs, Florida.No visitation is planned. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services, Longmont. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2009, at Central Presbyterian Church, 402 Kimbark St. in Longmont with Reverend Samuel Adams officiating.A private interment will follow at Ft.
