

Jane Hanna Rodell of Longmont, CO went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 1, 2008 at LifeCare Center of Longmont. She was 84.Jane was born July 16, 1924 in Benton, Illinois to Martin and Amalia Lena (Gossman) Mayer. She grew up and attended school in Benton. Jane married Gilbert L. Hanna in Benton, Illinois on April 12, 1942 and the couple moved to Longmont from Murphysboro, Illinois in 1959. Gilbert died in September 1984. Jane married Marion D. Rodell in Longmont, Colorado on March 16, 1990.Jane worked at Red Dale in the upholstery division. Later, at Bestop, she worked directly with large auto manufacturing firms designing bras for cars before they were made available to the public. She retired in 1989. After she married Marion, the couple enjoyed traveling to many places in the United States and Canada. Jane also enjoyed hobbies such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading and cooking. She especially enjoyed entertaining her family and was known for her wry sense of humor. Jane was a member of the First Baptist Church in Longmont and enjoyed being involved with ABW Ministries. She loved her church and was very active when she was able.Mrs. Rodell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gilbert, three brothers, three sisters, and a grandson, Spencer Harroun.Jane is survived by her husband Marion; two sons: Kent Hanna and Steve Hanna and his wife Nancy all of Longmont; two daughters: Connie Elliott and her husband Rich of Longmont and Marcia Harroun and her husband Mike of Kimball county, Nebraska; two step daughters: Rita Hill of Longmont and Marilyn Wilhide of Jonesboro, Arkansas; six grandchildren: Joe Harroun, Hilary Eselin, Ruth Hanna, Rebecca Kunselman, Eric Hill and Rod Hill; and eight great grandchildren.Visitation will be held at Howe Mortuary from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 7 at First Baptist Church in Longmont with Pastor Gary Bowser officiating.
