
Janice E. ˜Jan' Lynch of Longmont died March 30, 2011 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 72.Jan was born on April 29, 1938 in Simpson, Kansas, the daughter of Wilbur Roger and Hattie Vera (McGaughey) Sams. She married Dale B. Lynch on February 17, 1957 in Beloit, Kansas and moved to Longmont in 1962. Jan was a homemaker and mother. She also held a variety of jobs, working as a secretary for the City of Longmont, as a cook for Longmont B.P.O. Elks #1055 and as an Avon saleswoman. She was a member of Columbine Chapter #11, Order of the Eastern Star, and held various positions within the Elks Ladies Auxiliary #1055 and the Longmont Bowling Association. Jan was an avid bowler, avid reader and card player. She enjoyed wood art, camping, fishing, playing games and had to complete crossword puzzles every day.She was preceded in death by her husband on December 19, 1994; her parents and a brother, Roger Dean Sams.Jan is survived by her son, Dale Dean Lynch of Kersey, CO; two daughters, Kim Lynch McSwain (Brent) of Lakewood and Kris Lynch Powers (David) of Brigham City, UT; two sisters, Shirley Wilson and Jean Purcell, both of Wichita, KS; eight grandchildren, Lindsey, Corey, and Abbey McSwain, Jamie and Joshua Powers, and Angelina, Kevin and Sadie Lynch and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Jim Lynch of Fresno, CA; her sisters-in-law, Sharon K. Williams (Bill) of Escondido, CA and Jane Sams of Spartanburg, SC and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be 4-6PM Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be 11AM on Monday, April 4, 2011 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Interment at Foothills Gardens of Memory. Memorial contributions may be made to the Longmont United Hospital Foundation and mailed to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
