Janice was one of four children born to Alfred and Hannah. She grew up in Illinois, marrying her first husband Harold J. Kane on September 10, 1955, at the age of 17. Together they had four children- Curt, Bill, Christine, and Laura. The family would live in Elmhurst, IL for many years, until deciding to move to Longmont in 1984. Janice worked in various positions in the food service industry, but was mainly a stay-at-home mom. All her family held a special place in her heart, including of course, her dog Max. She enjoyed the mountains, hiking, and traveling. Some of her favorite places to go to in Colorado included Lyons, Elk Meadows, Johnny Park and the Button Rock Dam. She was also passionate in her faith, one of her favorite verses was John 11:25-26 - Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.”
