

Jay Knaus, 25, passed away in his sleep on February 2, 2017. Jay was born on November 6, 1991 to Sue and Mike Knaus. He graduated from Longmont High School in 2010 and attended Mesa State and Denver Metro Universities where he was pursuing a degree in Sports Management. Jay excelled in everything related to athletics. He was currently a basketball and baseball official. Jay was a congenial person with a kind demeanor and incredible heart. Jay loved and was loved by so many.
Jay is survived by his parents Sue and Mike Knaus of Longmont. He is also survived by siblings; Julie, Kirk, Carrie Rubino (Nick) and grandparents Gladys and Richard Knaus and Chuck Martinka. Jay is further survived by aunts and uncles: Melinda and Bob Helgeland, Julie and Randy Williams, Paula and Randy Anderson, Marci and Mark Roemer, Sally and John Gaddis, and nineteen first cousins.
A ceremony honoring Jay’s life will be held at Lifebridge Christian Church on Thursday February 9th at 11A.M. with Doug Johnson officiating. A private burial will follow in the Burlington Cemetery in Longmont.
