Jayne was one of four children born to Howard and Joyce. As a child the family moved to Colorado, and she grew up in Boulder. In 1973, she earned her diploma from Fairview High School. Years later, Jayne met Leon Benjamin, whom she married on September 12, 1992. They were married for 30 years before her passing.
She loved to decorate and restore furniture, and used those skills when she worked at her family’s paint store and design center in Boulder (Arapahoe Paint, Table Mesa Paint & Decorating) as an assistant manager. Jayne was also a super computer operator for NIST in Boulder, a mortgage processor, law office secretary, and a homemaker.
When she wasn’t working, some of Jayne’s favorite ways to spend her time included antiquing, caring for her flower gardens, traveling, and caring for her grandchildren. She was also known to be a connoisseur of vanilla ice cream.
Jayne is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Joyce. She is survived by her husband Leon Benjamin of Loveland, CO; daughter Carrie Lynn Jones of Longmont, CO; brothers Craig Jonker of Texas, Randy Jonker of California, and Steve Jonker of Colorado; grandchildren Jayda Larsen of Lincoln, NE and Tiana Larsen of Fort Collins, CO, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews from the Jonker and Vande Lune families that she loved very much.
