

Born on January 23, 1933. She was born in Midland Park, New Jersey to Peter Streelman and Anna DeBlock. She grew up in Midland Park and graduated from Pompton Lakes High School. The first to graduate in her family. She married Jack Foreit in 1951 and moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1954. She and Jack moved to Longmont, Colorado from New Mexico in 1977, to be near their daughters and extended family.
Jean held various jobs over the years, many at the same time, in order to help support her family. After retiring from Safeway as a bakery manager, she worked in daycare at Lifebridge Church. Her favorite job was caring for family and friends. Jean was dedicated to her family and cared for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and even a great great grandchild. She loved to travel, the mountains, seasons and anything thrilling. She was jumping out of airplanes in her seventies, hang gliding and ziplining clear into her eighties. Her zest for life was infectious.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Peter and Anna, her siblings, Donald, Bob and Sis Streetman, and her first husband, Jack. She is survived by her husband Gary Hodges and his children, Trudy, Gary and Jennifer; daughters, Jill Schlemer and husband Scott, and Joy Watanuki and husband Scott; grandsons, John Tyre and partner Brooke Dowis, Shane Tyre and wife Christina, Michael Roach and wife Kristen Whitehead; and finally, great grandchildren, Tiffany Tyre, Dayne Tyre, Kaleb Tyre and Connor Tyre, great great grandson Jeremy Tyre.
