Jean was born on August 10, 1927 to Carl Cooper and Jessie Fowler Cooper in Corning, Iowa. She graduated from Corning High School. On March 4, 1951 she married Drexel Leonard in Corning.
The Leonard’s moved to Longmont in 1967, where she began work at Gould, Inc., later PARMA Industries. Following the closure of the plant, she joined the State Unemployment Office, Longmont, where she worked 12 years. She took great joy in volunteering for the Longmont Public Library for a number of years. She attended First United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband and a brother Dale Cooper.
Surviving are her daughters Deb (David) Rosengrant and Pam (Gary) Meier both of Longmont; and two granddaughters Lauren and Megan Meier of Longmont.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel.
