Jeni Schraishuhn

Margaret “Jeni” Schraishuhn’s life touched more people than either we or she will ever know. Born in New Jersey, she lived in Germany before returning to the East Coast. She spent the summers in Ocean City with her sisters and cousins where she developed a love of the water and sailing. After moving to Boulder County in the late 1970s, she dedicated her life to home birth midwifery and naturopathic care. Jeni was a loving and selfless person. She delivered over 1,500 babies and guided many people on their health journeys. She loved children, music, nature, gardening, animals, and gathering with loved ones. She was always learning and eager to help others with her wisdom. Jeni passed away from melanoma. She will be forever missed and remembered. She is survived by her two sisters, her three children and their families, and countless friends whom she regarded as family. In lieu of flowers, please carry on Jeni’s legacy by planting a tree in her honor or donating to the Longmont Humane Society or Heifer International, two charities that Jeni valued.
