

Jerome Bradley, 77, of Longmont, died January 16, 2015 at TRU Community Care Hospice in Louisville, CO. He was born September 25, 1937 in Pierce, Colorado to Joseph and Mary Delphine (Boegel) Bradley. He moved to Longmont in 1944 with his family. He attended schools in Longmont and graduated from Longmont High School in 1955. On August 7, 1958 he married Sally Jones in Longmont, Colorado.
Jerome joined his father and helped operate many businesses shortly after finishing high school. An entrepreneurial family they owned and operated numerous businesses through the years; they had Bradley Hatchery, raising and selling chickens. They also operated Bradley Fuel and Supply Company where they sold any number of products from their downtown business (located where the Longmont Library stands today), including coal, wood, feed, Christmas trees, peaches and even televisions, shortly after they were first introduced in the early 1950’s. They sold their downtown property and continued their largest operation of Bradley Auto Salvage, until they sold that property to the City of Longmont in 2002,
Jerome was a faithful and active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was also a past member of the Knights of Columbus and in his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing, family card games and with Sally was a member of Hix –N- Chix.
Survivors include his wife Sally, his son Jeff Bradley and his daughters Debbie VanThuyne and Kim (Joe) Knight all of Longmont and his daughter Kathy Bradley of Denver, brothers Tom (Dorothy) Bradley of Golden and Jim (Teddi) Bradley of Green Valley, AZ, 4 grandchildren Greg VanThuyne, Amy Abel, Jill (Jay) Belue and Kelly (Derek) Barnes and 2 great grandchildren Justin and Jonathan Belue. He is further survived by his nephew Mike (Darcie) Bradley.
Vigil services will held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont with Reverend Ron Weissbeck officiating. Burial will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory.
