

Joan Eleanor Magruder Doss, 81, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015. Joan was born February 23, 1934 to Ross and Eleanor Magruder in Chicago, IL. She married D. Robert Doss on December 29, 1956. They had two sons, Kurt and Kenneth.
Joan worked as a bank teller for over 50 years, finally retiring at age 72. She then moved to Utah where she has resided for the last eight and a half years.
Joan’s first love was reading; she especially enjoyed a good mystery. Her other interests were golf and a good game of bridge with her good friends. Many Sundays in the fall you could find her in front of the television cheering for the Denver Broncos. Joan loved listening to music, especially “Old Blue Eyes” (Frank Sinatra).
Family was very important to her and she kept in contact by phone with all of them.
Joan is survived by her sons, Kurt and Ken Doss, three brothers: Ross Magruder, Steven Magruder (June), Scott Magruder (Laura), one sister, Linda Corey (Clark), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Todd Magruder.
A Memorial will held at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT on Friday, April 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
She will be buried next to her parents and brother at Foothills Gardens of Memory in Longmont, Colorado on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
