

Jodie Cash CowleyJodie Cash Cowley, 70, passed from this earthly life on Saturday, June 23, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer.Jodie was born on June 1, 1937 in Logan, Utah to Opal Evelyn Cash and Merlin Joseph Cowley. He grew up on a family dairy farm and learned early the value of hard work which he passed along to his own family. He attended schools in Logan and was involved in many high school activities especially sports. His football skills earned him a scholarship to USU where he graduated with a degree in Industrial Management. Upon graduation, he was commissioned an officer in the USAF where he was involved in pilot training and astronaut testing program in Bartow AFB, Florida and Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio.His family moved to Boulder, CO in 1962 where he was employed with Ball Aerospace, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed the people he worked with and had an enjoyable time being involved in many of the space programs and launches. After retirement, Jodie and his wife moved to Berthoud, CO where he could continue his farming interests, gardening, traveling, and volunteer church service.Jodie married Joan Peterson of Oakley, ID on September 18, 1959. They were blessed with five children, which were his most prized possession. Jill (Mark) Trenholm of Fort Collins, CO; Chris (Jim) Seaberg of Frisco, TX; Craig (Colleen) of Longmont, CO; Scott (Gloria) of Memphis, TN, and Neil (Ronda) of Delta, CO. He loved and enjoyed his 19 grandchildren and one great grandson and we will all miss him greatly.Jodie is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served in many callings, but especially loved to work with the youth and as a temple worker in the Denver temple. He loved his Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and his faith and belief has given him great peace and knowledge in his lifetime.He is survived by his wife, Joan, his children, his sisters: Corrine Berg of Ogden, UT and Lucy Beth Cahoon of Logan, UT, and one brother, Gloyd, of Wickenberg, AZ, and step mother, Dorothy Cowley of Roosevelt, UT, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother. Jodie was greatly loved by all who knew him and will be missed by many.Viewing will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26 at the Howe Mortuary in Longmont, CO and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27 at the LDS Church at 3800 Mountain Lion Drive in Loveland, CO.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County, 7604 Colland Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
