John Heller

John Heller, passed away July 12, 2012 at his home, with his family by his side, after a short and courageous fight with anaplastic thyroid cancer.John was born on October 5, 1953 in Monr , Michigan to Tom Heller and Marilyn (Knowles) Heller.John graduated from Renesselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, New York, in 1976, with a BS degree in Business Administration.John married Meg (Walsh) Heller on October 17, 1982.John spent the early part of his career working for several companies on the east coast(Leviton Manufacturing, Bendix, McGraw Edison) designing and implementing MRP systems. John was an Entrepreneur and caught the Silicon Valley bug and moved to California in 1981 to be part of a start up company. John established several of his own businesses - including a start up to introduce speech digitization systems to mini and micro computer platforms. John then established Management Efficiency Systems in 1983 until present, providing Computer IT consulting to small businesses.John and his family moved to Longmont in 1998. Here John continued his own business, and became active in the St. Vrain School District as a coach for both football and track (discus and shot-put). John coached most recently at Frederick High School for Football and Track. John was also a coach at Niwot High School football for 7 years and Niwot track for 4 years; Skyline track for 5 years.As part of John's dedication to coaching, he has established a scholarship fund for Athletes in St. Vrain School District.John is survived by his wife, Meg (Walsh) Heller, Sarah Heller and her finance Adam Stamp, and Catherine Heller.John is also survived by his parents Tom and Marilyn (Knowles) Heller, and his sister Lynn Heller of Florida. John is also survived by a number of sister and brother in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and lots of dear friends.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday July 17, 2012 at 11am at St. John the Baptist Church, Longmont, COIn lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the John Heller Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory or to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, Lafayette, CO.
