Fred and I loved Johnny.  He used to come to the place we lived and we would fish in the pond and then have dinner.  I loved cooking for him.  We will miss you.     Fred and Bobbi Trujillo


You will be so missed.  We are so saddened about the loss of such a wonderful man.  We will always cherish the time spent with you.  You treated Brannon, Taylor and I so good. You were more family to us than some of our own.  For that, we are forever grateful.  Rest In Peace brother.  We love you. ❤️ 

Uncle Johnny, I loved you like I love my own dad. There isn’t a memory in my life that doesn’t have you in it. If I wasn’t at home I was at yours. Anyone who knows, knows Me, Crystal and Brandee  were inseparable. I was with you all so often I even got mistaken for one of your daughters at times and that was ok with me. You never made me feel unloved, as a matter of fact you always made me feel like I was one of your girls. So much in fact I had chores to do when I stayed the weekend or even got in trouble when they did. When I was with you all you never hesitated to make sure I didn’t get left out. I’m forever thankful and feel so blessed to have had you be such a significant part of my life. You even so graciously gave me the nickname “motor mouth, motor for short” which I can assure you I can and will always live up to that name. If there is one gift you gave me it was the gift of sister hood. I never had sisters, but you gave me the girls. Thank you. I’ll never forget the day me and Brandee got stuck on the garage and you and Aunt Patty came home. You didn’t know whether to be mad or laugh because we were scared to get down and we were scared to get down and how much trouble we would be in. Trouble seemed to be all of our middle names when we were together or the time Brandon had to save me from walking barefoot in the snow because “my feelings got hurt” and we had to explain that one to you. The list of memories could go on and on that I have with you and the girls and that in itself means more than anything in this world to me. You gave me a sense of security and home even in my adult life. You were there for me during a very dark time in my life. One night in particular I had no where to go, it was well past midnight and the only place I knew to go was your house. I woke you up, you weren’t mad, but more concerned with my state of mind. I knew I could always come to you when I had no where else to go. For all those things I’m forever thankful. I love you 

John you were my only one. Even though we had many challenges in our marriage, we also shared many times of love, laughter and happiness. Some of my favorite memories were the birth of our 2 amazing daughters. Crystal was born on the 26th and that was your softball # at the time. BranDee was born so quickly you almost got to witness her being born in front of you.  😂  Then when you got to hold them both for the first time, I knew daddy’s girls already had you wrapped around your heart. Then when you had your landscaping company I loved going to see what you had make.  When I look at our daughters I see so much of you in them. Their big hearts, that twinkle in their eyes when they tell a jokes, laughing with all of their being, along with the passion to live life to it’s fullest. You taught them about the importance of family and friends, along with our house being a place of love and safety for whoever needed help at any given time. You taught them loyalty, hard work and the importance of people over things. I’ll definitely miss you. However I’m so grateful I still have our amazing daughters whom have been graced with so many amazing traits of you their father. And those things you have taught them they are handing down to their children to leave a legacy full of love of family and friends and living life passionately to the fullest with everything they have within them.

Over the last couple of years, I had the the opportunity to get to know Juan while he temporarily lived in Las Animas.  He worked very hard to improve his personal situation and was very excited when he was able to obtain housing in a brand new apartment complex in Fort Collins.  He could hardly wait to get there and bring Zippy to their new home.  He was always in a good mood and he tried to brighten everyone else's day with his sense of humor.  We would speak in Spanish and he could always tell if I didn't understand what he had said and then he would tell me what he meant so that it improved my vocabulary.  Vaya con dios mi amigo!
