
John Henry Price, 74, of Longmont passed away March 23, 2011, of heart failure at Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital.Mr. Price was born August 1, 1936 in Boston, Georgia, to J. Henry and Frances Roddenberry Price. He was the only son of six children and was raised in Thomasville, Georgia until the age of 13.In 1952 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he spent the next ten years. During this period he completed tours of duty on Johnston Island in the Pacific, in Japan, Okinawa, Korea, France and Germany.In 1963, John and his family moved to South Carolina and to Longmont in 1973 where he started ISC Financial Services. Mr. Price was also a bank examiner for the State of Colorado. He became self-employed in 1978 and retired in 1994.In retirement, Mr. Price and his wife Barbara were able to enjoy traveling, golf and spending the winter months in Queen Valley, Arizona.He is survived by his best friend and wife, Barbara; his son, Mark Price (Valli) of Longmont; two daughters, Debra Price of Firestone and Stacey Arias (Ovid Arguello) of Windsor; step-daughter Kristi Brackett of Longmont; five grandchildren, Danielle and Jeffrey Price (Kayla), Michael Arias of Longmont, Ashley Arias of Ft. Collins and Amanda Lum (Matt) of Denver; one great-grandson Micah Price of Longmont and one sister, Faye Griffin (Tommy) of Hartford, Connecticut.Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Longmont, or to the Queen Valley Fire Auxiliary, Queen Valley, Arizona and mailed to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
