John Curtis Rickard

John Curtis Rickard of Johnstown, Colorado, went home to be with his Jesus March 31, 2009 at his residence. John was 59 years young. He fought a valiant fight to win the battle over cancer (Lymphoma).John was born January 20, 1950 in Rolfe, Iowa to Keith Rickard and Charlotte (Mack) Rickard. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister. He is survived by his loving wife, Carrie; mother; three sisters; children, Colleen, Jennifer, and Jeff; granddaughter, Claire; and stepson, Aric.He was active in sports throughout school in Rolfe and Colorado. He played football while attending Colorado State University. John eventually joined Conoco, later Suncor at the refinery in Commerce City. He took great pride in his work and had a close bond with those he worked with for over 30 years. He was an active member of Pipefitters Local 208.John and Carrie, his wife of 10 years, moved to Johnstown where they enjoyed working in the yard and on home improvement projects together. He enjoyed special time with his children and granddaughter.Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services, Longmont. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2009, at the Howe Mortuary Chapel.
