

John P. Schrodt, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully on April 30, 2016 at his home in Longmont, Colorado. John was 65 years old. He was born to John E. Schrodt and Mary E. Schrodt in Denver, Colorado on December 3, 1950.
John attended Fairview High School and graduated in 1969. He attended Boulder VoTech and became an auto upholsterer. He owned and operated John’s Auto Upholstery in Boulder, Hygiene and Longmont for some 30 years. He was an enthusiastic car buff and his auto upholstery and craftsmanship can be found in many cars throughout Colorado and surrounding states.
A native of Colorado, John enjoyed visiting the mountain towns, listening to music, working on cars and spending time with his family. His upholstery shop welcomed everyone and he was always ready to chat and share stories with customers and friends. John leaves behind a host of family that includes the love of his life, Carol Schrodt, his wife of 42 years; their children; PJ Schrodt, his wife Stacey and their son James; his daughter Amanda Pope and her husband Daniel, and their twins Riley and Reese; his brothers, Philip and Michael Schrodt; his sister Katie Nacke with her husband Jim and their children Jacob and Lily; many in-laws, Vernon and Jean Dwinell, Leah Sievert, George and Joann Dwinell, Jill and Joe Apodaca, Jeanne and Fred Wilsey along with many nieces and nephews and cousins. John was predeceased by both parents and his brother Danny Schrodt.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 323 Collyer Street, Longmont, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, followed by a reception at John and Carol’s home at 2348 Sunrise Drive in Longmont.
