

Joe Esquibel of Longmont, died suddenly November 9, 2013 at his home. He was 72. Joe was born on March 8, 1941 I Loma Parda, New Mexico to Cipriano Esquibel and Isabel Paiz. Raised in New Mexico, he graduated from the University of New Mexico, with a Pharmaceutical Degree. He married Kathryn Gherardi on June 28, 1969 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He worked as a Pharmacist, owned several pharmacies and other small businesses, including owning Francis St. Pharmacy for 25 years.
Joe loved to tell jokes and watch his children and grandchildren participate in their sporting activities, especially football, volleyball and basketball. He’d could often be found taking the time to show all of them trick shots on the basketball court. He loved to listen to music and became an avid music collector of various genres, including rock and roll, Latin, and oldies. Throughout the course of his life Joe also became a collector of cars, Marilyn Monroe memorabilia, pigs and hats.
Joe also loved to play golf and even had the opportunity to go to the Masters tournament in Georgia a few years ago.
Surviving are his wife of Longmont; daughters Allison (Nick) Flattery of Longmont; and Alyssa (Nathan) Bridges of Provo, Utah; a son Christopher Esquibel of Longmont; two brothers Herman (Laura) Esquibel of Colorado Springs; and Henry (Barbara) Esquibel of Arvada; three sisters Odelia (Joe) Esquibel of Livermore, California; Priscilla (Bob) Flores of Colorado Springs; and Anna Mae (Jerry) Flores of Fountain, Colorado; and four grandchildren Iziah and Saige Andres and Isabelle and Dominic Flattery.
Vigil services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 17 at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 18 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
