Jose Tony A. Rivera

Jose A. Tony Rivera, 80, formerly of Longmont passed away November 30, 2016 at Pathways Hospice Care Center in Loveland, CO.He was born April 23, 1936 in La Cienega, NM to Jose and Guadalupe (Sandoval) Rivera.Tony served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was stationed for a time in Germany and was honorably discharged.He moved to Longmont in 1961, then to Pueblo in 1999 after short stays in Berthoud and Loveland.Tony owned and operated Tony's Auto Body and Paint in Longmont 1969 “ 1972, the Mead Inn 1973-1974, and finally T & J Refinishing in Longmont until 1979 when he moved the business to Mead. He retired in 1997.He enjoyed buying and selling cars and playing guitar and the accordion.He was preceded in death by his parents, son Joseph, sister Mary Lou Rivera and brother-in-law Beatrice Sandoval.Tony is survived by son Tony Rivera and wife Kim of Mead, daughters Rosemary Rivera and Mary Frances Rivera of New Mexico, grandchildren Tylor Rivera, Kylie Breana Rivera and Keegan Donjon, sister Mabel Sandoval and nephew Rick Sandoval and wife Kathy.Celebration of life will be held 2:00-3:30 PM, Friday, December 9, 2016 at the American Legion Post 32, Longmont.
