Joseph Albert Lucero

LUCERO, Joseph Albert, 56, of Dacono, died October 29, 2009 at his home.Al was born August 10, 1953 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the son of Joseph and Jane (Varos) Lucero. The family moved to Boulder soon after where Al attended schools including Boulder High Class of 1971.On March 12, 1977 he married Caroline Mae Seltmann in Lafayette, CO.Al went to work at the Henderson Mine near Empire in 1976 until it was shut down in 1982. He then began work at Bestop in both Longmont and later Broomfield, specializing as a welder. Health issues forced him to retire in 2001. His total focus was on his family, providing for his wife, children and adoring grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother Chuck Lucero and a sister Theresa Lucero.Survivors include his mother Jane Lucero of Longmont, wife Caroline of Dacono, son Jacob Albert Lucero, and daughter Jennifer Lynn Lucero and his son in law Del Ortega all of Dacono. He is further survived by his sister Becky (Michael) Bodah of Longmont, 4 grandchildren Theresa, Anthony, Joseph, and Julian and numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation hours will be held Sunday, November 3 from 2:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. at the Howe Mortuary Community Room.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 4, at the Howe Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Kevin Clark of Hospice of Boulder & Broomfield Counties officiating.
