Joyce Ann Smoot (Krauter)

Joyce was born February 9, 1939 in Leona, Wisconsin, the daughter of Richard Ludwig and Maureen Christine (Babka) Krauter. She retired as a dispatcher for the North Chicago Police Department. Joyce had also worked security on a riverboat casino in Metropolis, Illinois before moving to Longmont in 1999. After moving to Longmont Joyce became employed for Wal-Mart, as an evening stocker.

She is survived by her son Pastor Timothy (Gwendolyn) Smoot, Palatine, IL., her daughter Tara (Ken) Collier, Longmont, CO, brothers Anthony (Pat) Krauter, Kathleen, GA and Arthur (Carin) Kent, Longmont, CO.; her twin sisters Ruth Krauter and Rose Morrow, Ladysmith, WI and Barbara Lindley, Kathleen, GA.. Joyce is further survived by her granddaughters Ashley and Natalie Collier, numerous nieces and nephews and her special friends Larry Walton and Anita Casynn.

Preceding Joyce in death were her parents, her brothers Allan, Michael and Francis Krauter and her sister Alice Enright.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, November 2, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Howe Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Mary Dobbs officiating. Services will conclude at the Chapel with cremation being entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Crematory.
