

Judy was born September 17, 1946 at the Poudre Valley Hospital in Ft. Collins. She graduated from Ft. Collins High School in 1964. Judy was on the 50-year class reunion committee. Her first job was at Richards Flowers in Ft. Collins, where she met her ex-husband, John Haines. They were married on April 27, 1966 at the Danforth Chapel on the CSU campus where Judy was a student and where John had graduated. The couple managed an art gallery in Taos, NM. John managed Sturtz and Copeland Florist in Boulder where Judy also worked. Together they bought Robbins Flower Shop in Longmont in 1969. John and Judy were business partners for 25 years at Robbins. After selling the flower shop in 1995, Judy worked at Design Master in Boulder as an education director. She worked in marketing to China while in Cincinnati at the Creative Group. When the company moved to Florida, Judy moved to Rockford, Illinois to be closer to her family. She went to work as a floral manager for Village Green in Rockford from 2004-2011. Judy retired in 2011 and moved to Timnath, CO.
Judy also served her community in many roles including being the first woman president of the Longmont Chamber of Commerce in 1984, first woman president of the Fox Hill Country Club in 1985 and 1986. She was also one of the first women in Rotary. Her favorite picture was of 64 men and her in the Longmont Rotary Club. She also served on the Longmont City Council from 1987-1991. She was also on many other city boards including the Longmont Foundation Hospital Board from 1993-1995.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Carey Haines; granddaughters, Olivia Ellen and Loral Fei Hess; sister, Sharlene Ellen (Marty) Reagan; two nephews, Steve (Sue) Ramey and Ray (Kelly) Ramey. She is further survived by her ex-husband, John, Bali.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis E. Stark and Arlene Ellen (O’Neall) Starke, sister, Elizabeth Rae Lybeck and her favorite aunt, Edna Starke Jessup.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Grandview Cemetery in Ft. Collins with Ali Duncan-Neal officiating.
