Julie was born in Troy, NY to Valentine and Elizabeth (Betzwieser) Rothenheber. She graduated from Catholic Central High School and attended Russell Sage College. She was a secretary in the technical department at Behr-Manning Co.
Julie married John Malanify on July 28, 1956. Julie was a dedicated homemaker and the best mom ever to her two kids. In 1964, the family moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico where she was involved with keeping the records for the local swim team, sewing, and becoming an accomplished quilter. In 2000, John and Julie moved to Longmont, CO and have been active members of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Julie enjoyed gardening, traveling, and eating out with her friends. She took several trips to Europe, including a river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest. She also toured Australia, Costa Rica, Ireland and Canada.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Julie is survived by her son Jeff Malanify and his wife Debbie of Albuquerque, NM, daughter Tina Bogott of Longmont, sister Hilda Birney of Oak Park, IL, three grandchildren Courtney (Mark) Reimer of Ft. Collins, Cameron Malanify of Livermore, CA and Quinn Malanify of Breckinridge, step-grandchildren Jason McCoy of Albuquerque and Tracy Shelton of Louisburg, KS, and five great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday September 15, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with viewing prior to the service. Burial will take place at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the OUR Center in lieu of flowers.
