

Julius L. Ray, 98, of Longmont passed away June 2, 2017. He was born June 9, 1918 in Onton, Kentucky to Otho and Alice (Hall) Ray. Julius was a WWII Veteran having served in the US Army from 1941 until 1945. He married Ida Mae Cummings on August 15, 1947 in Evansville, Indiana. Julius was a tool and die maker for Caterpillar Tractor Company retiring in 1982. The couple moved to Longmont in 1985. He was a member of Ambassador Baptist Church and the Disabled American Veterans of Longmont. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting, camping and hiking. He was preceded in death by his wife Ida Mae in February of this year, and a brother Otho Ray. Julius is survived by a brother Dwight Ray; a daughter Vicki Ray, a son Richy Ray; grandchildren Joy Fitch and husband Danny, and Benjamin Schniepp; two great grandchildren Gavin and Noah Schniepp. Visitation will be 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM Wednesday June 7, 2017 with funeral service to start at 10:30 AM at Ambassador Baptist Church. Interment will be at 2:15 PM Wednesday at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Military honors to be rendered by US Army and American Legion Post 32 of Longmont. Military honors will be at Ft.
