Justin Andrew Schell

Justin weighed 10 lbs ½ oz, full of life, joy, and orneriness. From birth, Justin was blessed with the most expressive, beautiful brown eyes. He could tell you a story with them, his smile, or his frown. Justin could bring joy to your day with his smile.

Justin was preceded in death by his dad, Andrew Schell; his stepdad, Lee Hopkins; and his stepbrother, Mark Hopkins. He is survived by his mom, Nona; his sisters JoEtte, Linda, Cindy, and Sharon; his brother Joshua; his stepsisters Tracey and Lora; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

As a young child, Justin took part in Royal Rangers at his church. He loved to camp, fish, run, hike, talk, eat, ride his bike, and torment his siblings as only the baby of the family could. One of his sisters lovingly teased him as being the biggest baby ever, but only because of his birth weight and because he was the youngest.

Justin lived a fun, full life until age 11, when a neurological disease began to take over. He fought hard against the symptoms for a long time, as he had watched his brother Josh struggle for two years and knew what was coming. Justin graduated from Skyline High School in 1995.

Justin was a Broncos fan from the time he knew what football was. He especially liked John Elway.

He loved his momma fiercely all his life—so much so that he would push away his caregivers, be stubborn with them, and act like Sitting Bull with his arms across his chest just to get his mom to take care of him instead. You could say, as the baby of the family, he was a little spoiled.

He always loved Jesus, his family, friends, and his church. He loved listening almost exclusively to Christian music, and when he could go, he enjoyed concerts. Justin wrote many poems to God and Jesus; two have been put to music thanks to a family friend. Lunch will be served following the service.

Justin will be cremated and interred at Mountain View Cemetery, Longmont, Colorado, privately with family.
