Kathleen graduated from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. She began her career at a CPA firm in Denver before she and her family made their home in Longmont. She later served as Controller for the family businesses, bringing a sharp mind and steady hand to the work for many years.
For many years Kathleen showed Morgan horses, and her dressage horse, Taz, was a great joy in her life. She loved the Rocky Mountains and spent much time in them. She counted it a blessing to see them every day from her window.
Above all, Kathleen loved her family. Her favorite moments were the ones she spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by Donald, her husband of 62 years, and her sons Douglas, John, and David. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Drew, Ashley, Ian, Bailey, and Kate, and one great-grandchild, Hal. She shared an especially close bond with her daughters-in-law, Marjorie and Brittany.
A celebration will be held on October 12 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 3791 Pike Road, Longmont, with a rosary at 9:30am, Funeral Mass at 10:30am, and reception to follow at the church.
