

Kay was born on December 31, 1939, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, to Clifford and Marjorie (Frye) Pace. During World War II, her father was drafted into the military, and the family relocated to Vallejo, California during his service before settling in Johnstown, CO, after the war. Kay graduated from Roosevelt High School in Johnstown and went on to become a Certified Dental Assistant in 1960.
In 1959, Kay married Andy Scott, with whom she shared two children. She later married Dalton Westrum in 1980, who preceded her in death, and in 2012 she married Aldo Bonora, who also preceded her in death. In 1979, Kay made her home in the Longmont area after moving from Holyoke, Colorado. Alongside her was her dog Buddy, her best friend and sidekick.
Kay worked as a dental assistant in Boulder, Colorado before retiring in 2000.
Kay was a woman of many talents and interests. She had a passion for porcelain painting and was an active member of the World Organization of China Painters. In high school she was a member of the Rainbow Club. She found great joy in feeding the birds and squirrels that visited her backyard and rarely missed an opportunity to relax with her favorite cooking shows. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Kay was a member of the Catholic faith.
She is lovingly remembered by her children Todd Scott (Kim) of Platteville, CO and Andrea Jennings (Danny) of Houston, Texas; her step children Larry Westrum (Leslie) of Berthoud, CO, Randy Westrum (Mary) of Montrose, CO, Julie Lloyd (George) of Coupeville, WA, Rob Westrum (Cindie) of Otho, IA, Ronda Schories of Longmont, CO, Michael Bonora of Niwot, CO; grandchildren Cody Scott (Jennifer) of Firestone, CO, Kristin Scott (DaShawn) of Evans, CO, Peter Jennings of Magnolia, Texas, and Cherokee Stewart (Alistair) of Bathgate, Scotland; great-grandchildren Camden Scott, Nolan Scott of Firestone, CO, Kaylynn McCummings, Iris McCummings of Evans, CO, and Sebastian Gonzalez of Bathgate, Scotland.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Marjorie Pace.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday July 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel 326 Terry St. Longmont, CO 80501, with a reception to follow. Final resting will be at Mountain View Cemetery 620 11th Ave, Longmont, CO 80501.
