Kay Ann Stanley

Kay was born December 6, 1936 in Grainfield, Kansas to Leslie and Millie Mary Organ. She was raised in Oakley, Kansas and graduated Oakley High in 1954. Kay went on to school in Salina, KS where she met and married Murray E. Stanley, Jr. in 1958. They made a home in Mooresville, In for 11 years before moving the family to Longmont, Co in 1971. They had three children, L. Scott Stanley of Enid, OK; Murray “Guy” Stanley III of San Diego, CA and Nicole Ann Hirai (Chris Hirai) of Longmont, CO.

Kay began her successful career in real estate at The Pratt Agency after her divorce in 1975. She was a Realtor for over 20 years. During that time, she made numerous friends throughout the community undoubtedly due to her radiant smile and contagious laugh, which she was quick to share with everyone.

After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her friend, Susan Pratt. She was fond of reading, listening to gospel music, crossword puzzles and relaxing at home. She especially delighted in spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren. Kay served on the Shepherding Team at Lifebridge Christian Church and volunteered with A Woman’s Work. Her many friends and family celebrate her wonderful spirit and will miss her dearly.

Kay is survived by her children and grandchildren: Kaiya Ann Hirai, Chloe Jude Hirai, Rosie Mae Hirai and Dutch Edward Hirai; her sister-in-law Shirley Organ, Nieces Michele Krankenberg (Terry Krankenberg), Nicole Organ (Bill Watkins) and Danielle Prochazka (Marcus Prochazka), and nephew Daren Organ (Dian Organ).

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Daryl Organ.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Howe Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28 at LifeBridge Christian Church in Longmont. A private burial will follow.
